I used to customize my desktop a lot. I would go to customize.org, and choose a lot of litestep and rainmeter configurations to spice up the desktop, but unfortunately things got quite unstable and unusable. This is the last screenshot I had of my desktop before I moved to Windows 7 (since XP was getting annoying with some reg errors that seemed unfixable, and as well as that boot up time was incredibly long).
The desktop after that got changed around quite a bit with a black task-bar. I was proud whenever a few people came up and saw my computer and thought, damn, are you running a Mac or something?
Anyway, I've ditched customization. It's too much trouble, too much startup programs to slow down boot time, potential reg errors etc. I haven't stopped entirely though (I've changed MSN to a skinned Miranda IM). Today I was switching wallpapers frequently until I found this old one lying around. Coincidentally the same one as the last screen shot. If you're wondering I grabbed it from Kitsune Noir. I remember the designer describing these divers to collect the floating icons around the screen. So I've arranged them like so. Diver 2 has caught a rather big Dropbox while Diver 3 is putting a plastic bag he just found in the rubbish bin, cleaning up the sea in style.
(Archicad Essentials is lying there in the corner forever alone)
