Perth Arena

Got a sneak peek of the Perth Arena in construction. For those of you who don't know, the Perth Arena is a new arena built at the edge of the city where Northbridge/West Perth is, along Wellington Street, and it's supposed to accommodate rock concerts (since it will have better acoustic treating) and namely, the Hopman Cup.

Like all buildings designed by ARM (Aston Raggart McDougall Architects) the facade usually has some meaning imprinted in it. Apparently it is a close kept secret, I have no idea why, but it just is. It is to do with the shapes on various sides of the building, so when the building is complete I think it will be fun playing the game of architectural 'What shape is this?' akin to cloud spotting. No actually, maybe the meaning is controversial like their Australian National Museum, and they're not keen to let the cat out of the bag until construction is complete.
