Here I list my 'Top Ten Time Wasters of Rachel's Life', or rather Ways In Which Rachel Procrastinates, in the fashion of today's sermon by yours truly:
1. finding music to listen to/organizing iTunes library
Yep, your iTunes library is a mess, you like downloading as much music as possible to listen to. Stop listening to indie music, how about worship songs to God?
2. modding technology to make it more aesthetically pleasing
Face it, your phone isn't going to last forever, you can't even take it to heaven so don't even bother. Why would you waste time rooting the phone, searching up files and dumping pngs on your phone so you can show to everyone how sick your phone looks? That's a little vain of yourself.
3. lurking reddit
Do you even know what complete junk is there on reddit? Seriously?
4. lurking facebook
And I wonder why the most visited page in your bookmarks is 'Facebook'. Clearly you spend too much time on there. Get out and visit real people, form REAL relationships!
5. window shopping on the internet
That's bad. And worse that's not even your credit card you're using, it's your parents. Close the window NAO.
6. actual window shopping
That's bad too. Honestly, the time you spend window shopping (let's say, 2 hours) can be put to better use.
7. blogging
Oh what irony have we got there?
8. know your meme
So what are you going to gain if you remember the whole lyrics to the Bed Intruder song, or you've seen every single parody to the Rebecca Black song? The thing is, no one cares. I know how excited you are for Friday, but look at this one year later, and you probably have forgotten what I mean.
9. photoshopping pictures
Yes, your parents look nice in this photo, but I think you should show them your pictures for a change. And no, superimposing x onto y does not look funny at all.
10. scavenging for food
If you concentrate on your work, then I don't think there's a need to look for food items. Think about the children in Africa! (as brother would say)
For my fellow Christian friends: sorry if this comes as a cynical response to the message today. I do however, have a procrastination problem and I just wanted to present it. We all sometimes slack off a little, and it's good that we get a reminder not to dilly dally around the place.
